Presenting a prescription abroad
A prescription delivered by a doctor in your country is valid in all EU countries (In this case, the 28 EU member states + Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway).
You can ask your doctor to give you a prescription to use in another EU country, also known as a “cross-border prescription”.
Can I get a prescription filled in another country?
Even if you’re prepared with a copy of your prescription and the money to pay for the drugs, many countries do not permit pharmacies to fill prescriptions that originate outside their country. One solution is to see a local doctor to explain your medical condition to get a new prescription that can be filled locally.
Can you mail prescription medication internationally?
You are only permitted to mail prescription drugs via the USPS if you are a pharmacist or medical provider mailing such drugs to the patient they have been prescribed to. This means that without proper medical licensing you can receive prescription drugs, but you cannot, under any circumstance, mail them.
Can you take prescription drugs abroad?

Carry your medication in your hand luggage (although check your airline’s regulations before travelling) with a copy of your prescription. Pack a spare supply of medication in your suitcase or hold luggage (along with another copy of your prescription) in case you lose your hand luggage.
Do pharmacies accept foreign prescriptions?
Foreign prescriptions are generally not accepted at most of the pharmacies. However, no pharmacy workers will give medical advice or provide medical help. Once you buy the drugs, there are no returns due to health reasons. Most regular insurance companies pay for prescription medicines one month at a time.
Can I get a prescription without seeing a doctor?
To purchase a prescription drug, the most important requirement is that you have a real prescription to give to the pharmacy. The pharmacy must require your doctor’s signature on a prescription. Some online pharmacies will tell you that their in-house “doctor” can write you a prescription without seeing you in person.
Can you mail prescription drugs through FedEx?
Licensed mail-order pharmacies use this lawful practice to deliver medicine to millions of patients on a daily basis. To further clarify, FedEx is not charged with knowingly shipping a substance which is unlawful to possess, use, or prescribe.
